After leaving ones hometown and traveling overseas to study, international students will have to adjust to a new campus life. Besides learning the local languages and non-verbal communication, one also need to learn how to express oneself and respect the local customs and culture, without violating one's own native customs. The goal of this english seminar is to help international students to quickly grasp the communication barriers that may arise from cultural differences in a systematic way . By comparing the similarities and differences between Taiwan’s culture and the students home country, we hope to be able to guide students on how to fit themselves into the new cultural environment.
